DESCRIPTION

The GLSS Safety Learning Path provides specialized training across various safety standards and practices for construction and workplace safety. Our courses are Competent Person-Level, which give people and companies essential knowledge to navigate the complexities of workplace safety laws and create a secure work environment. Each course aims to enhance safety awareness and compliance through comprehensive instruction on relevant standards and safety measures, tailored to specific roles and responsibilities within the construction and general industry sectors.

COURSE CONTENT

The Confined Space Training & Certification focuses on OSHA 1926 Subpart AA, covering all aspects of confined spaces in construction including their definitions, classifications (non-permit, alternate procedure permit, permit required), communication, responsibilities of contractors and hosts, entry procedures, training, roles of entrants and supervisors, emergency services, and necessary equipment like air monitors and ventilation systems.

Course 2: Fall Protection

The Fall Protection Training & Certification is based on multiple standards including 29 CFR 1926 Sub Part M, this course details the regulatory requirements for fall protection, the duty of protection, system designs, usage, inspections, rescue plans, and the development of a site-specific fall protection program.

Course 3: Electrical Safety & Lockout/Tagout Awareness

The Electrical Safety & Lockout/Tagout Awareness Training & Certification is designed for “unqualified persons” as per OSHA’s classification, this course introduces basic electrical safety, the recognition of electrical hazards, and general lockout/tagout procedures to control and eliminate risks from various types of energy encountered in the workplace.

Course 4: Scaffolding
The Scaffolding Training & Certification addresses OSHA 1926 Subpart L, emphasizing scaffold safety, including design, capacity, construction, usage, access, fall and falling object protection, and specific scaffolds like fabricated frame and mobile scaffolds. Training requirements and roles of competent and qualified persons are also covered.
Course 5: Excavation & Trenching
The Excavation & Trenching Training & Certification follows OSHA 1926 Subpart P, covering definitions, roles, safety measures against various hazards (e.g., vehicular traffic, falling loads, water accumulation), and protective systems like sloping, shielding, and shoring. Emphasis is also placed on soil classification and excavation inspections.

WHO THESE COURSES ARE FOR*

CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Known for high rates of workplace injuries and fatalities, OSHA training is critical for roles such as site supervisors, safety managers, and all types of construction laborers. The focus is on navigating a wide range of hazards, from fall risks to electrical safety.

HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY
This includes hospital staff, emergency responders, and employees in long-term care facilities who are trained to handle biological hazards and maintain safety standards to protect both staff and patients.

MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
Workers and safety officers in this sector deal with machinery, chemical processes, and other potential hazards. OSHA training helps them manage risks related to equipment malfunctions and hazardous materials.

TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY
OSHA training is essential for truck drivers, logistics personnel, and those involved in material handling, focusing on vehicle maintenance, cargo loading, and handling hazardous materials.

Completing my Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course and project was a really interesting and rewarding experience for me. I appreciated that the course went beyond theory and allowed me to apply Lean Six Sigma principles to a real healthcare workflow improvement project.

For my project, I focused on improving the percentage of early-arriving patients roomed at their scheduled appointment time. Through data analysis, workflow observations, and root cause analysis, I was able to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements that positively impacted patient flow and operational efficiency.

Overall, the experience strengthened my skills in problem solving, process improvement, and data driven decision making, while also giving me more confidence in applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies within healthcare operations.

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program was an excellent learning experience. The course provided practical tools and a structured approach to process improvement through the DMAIC methodology. I especially appreciated the opportunity to apply the concepts to a real project, resulting in measurable improvements. The Kure platform was easy to use, and the project-based approach made the training both engaging and valuable. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking to develop process improvement and problem-solving skills.

I have an Industrial Engineering degree and have been utilizing lean principles in manufacturing for over 25 years. This training course aligns with my experience over the years and I have found it to be very helpful and informative. It has helped me reinforce many of the principles and helped me learn some new things too! The support team has been great, and I look forward to completing my black belt training with the GLSS team. Thank you very much!
