By combining standard business procedures with Lean Six Sigma methodology, the Humane Society for Greater Savannah was able to not only save thousands of dollars in operating costs, but also boost their animal adoption rate. By tracking every animals’ progress through each stage of the adoption process and holding their staff accountable for the length of time spent at each stage, they were able to reduce the average length of stay from 45 days to just 6.6. The CEO, William Brown III, also mentioned that they were able to reduce personal expenses by 34.89% in the past year.
