A Cross-Functional Flowchart is a process map that separates process steps by function, department or individual. This provides a visual that displays not just the steps in a process but also which individuals, group or department performs those steps.
Each row or lane represents a different department or individual. This type of process map is helpful in terms of understanding who is accountable for each step and how many hand-offs there are between groups or individuals.
