Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training & Certification
Prerequisites: None
Overview: Yellow Belt Training & Certification is an online, high-level, awareness course that teaches you the fundamentals of Lean Six Sigma process improvement. Upon completing the course, you’ll see the world with new eyes and understand how Lean Six Sigma can transform your workplace or home.
Estimated Completion Time: 8 hours (includes training and certification)
Exam Requirements: Must pass with 70% or higher
Project Requirement: There is no project required for Yellow Belt Certification
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training & Certification
Prerequisites: None
Overview: Green Belt Training & Certification is an online, in-depth course that enables you to complete Lean Six Sigma process improvement projects from start to finish. Green Belts can deliver measurable, sustainable improvement by finding the root causes of problems and streamlining processes.
Estimated Completion Time: 4 days or 32 hours (includes training and certification, not project time)
Completion guidelines:
- Total course access time 6 months
- Project Review
Exam Requirements: Must pass with 80% or higher
Project Requirement: A project is required for certification. The project must be work-related. Use the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Project Storyboard Submission Guide to submit a successful project prior to your course deadline. Course deadline is 6 months from registration date unless otherwise specified by a third party funding source.
Projects must be business related and sourced from any of the following:
- Current employment
- Volunteer or Internship
- Previous employment (must include data and charts showing process improvement)

*If you have your Green Belt Certificate from another provider, you may bypass this step by presenting a qualifying Green Belt Certificate to your Student Advisor which is:
- Issued by a regionally accredited higher education institution or ASQ
- Is Lean Six Sigma (not just Six Sigma or just Lean)
Overview: Black Belt Training & Certification is an online course that efficiently and effectively helps you further develop your process improvement, project management and leadership skills using clear language and plenty of practical examples. It’s an advanced, interactive and enjoyable online course that draws on decades of success helping people from Fortune 500 Companies to Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses. This course will begin to help you create happier customers, increase revenue, reduce costs and improve collaboration.
Estimated Completion Time: 6 days or 48 hours (includes training and certification, not project time)

FAQs
Do I have to take the Green Belt Course to take the Black Belt course? Can I test out of the Green Belt course?
If you have your Green Belt Certificate from another provider, you can bypass testing out by presenting a Green Belt Certificate that is:
- Issued by a regionally accredited higher education institution or ASQ
- Is Lean Six Sigma (not just Six Sigma or just Lean)
What if I already have a Green Belt Certificate?
Passing our Green Belt Certification Exam is a required pre-requisite for the Black Belt Training & Certification course. We are going to have you set up with the Green Belt Certification Exam which ensures you have working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt concepts and tools.
Three attempts are permitted per section of the Certification Exam. If you are unable to pass all sections with an 80% or higher score, you must register for the full Green Belt Training & Certification course through ed2go. Please contact your Student Advisor for questions regarding registration.
We highly recommend completing the exam within 1 week, since your 6 month time window to access the full Black Belt Training & Certification course started today.
Do I have to buy additional materials?
No.
Can I download the training slides or get them printed?
We only provide access to our training materials online, but you can access them at any time. The search feature is also very convenient as it saves you from flipping through a thousand page binder.
How long does it take to complete a program?
All of our programs are self-paced and open enrollment, so you can start them when you want and finish them at your own pace. When you register, you’ll receive six (6) months to complete the program unless otherwise stated by your third party funding source.
Once I complete the course, do I still have access to the online training material?
You will have 6 months access to the course. Your course access will be deactivated after 6 months but you have the option to purchase an annual subscription.
After taking the exam, do I always and forever have online training material access?

Are the exams online or in person? Are the exams open or closed book?
The exams are online and open book.
How many questions are on the test?
- Yellow Belt: 50 multiple choice questions
- Green Belt: 130 multiple choice questions
- Black Belt: 185 multiple choice questions
Are there any practice exams?
I’ve completed the Green Belt test and am ready to begin my project. Can I start Black Belt training without first completing my Green Belt project?
If you’ve completed the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, yes, you may move on to the Black Belt Training.
Is the Green Belt Project Storyboard a requirement to get the Green Belt Certification?
Yes.
Does my Green Belt Project have to be work-related?
Yes.
Does my Black Belt project have to be work-related?

When do I get my certificate?
Once you successfully complete the training, exam, and any project storyboard requirements.
Who do I contact if I have questions regarding the course or project?
Do I need to complete the Green Belt Project Storyboard by the deadline Rutgers has set or the due date given by GoLeanSixSigma.com?
When utilizing a third party funding source, you are provided a shorter time frame to complete. This is based on your contract with the funding source and the school. You must adhere to all requirements set forth by Rutgers and your funding source. The date they have set for you to complete the entire program final. If time is needed beyond that date, you will need to have approval from your third party funding source. It is very rare that they allow time beyond the end date originally provided. This means you will need to be complete with your entire program with a 70% or higher by the due date they’ve set forward. If you feel you may need more time, we would highly suggest contacting the funding source and school immediately to request approval while you continue to make progress towards completion.
Since I’ve passed the certification exam, am I now a certified Green Belt?
No. You must submit a successful Green Belt Project Storyboard.
Can GoLeanSixSigma.com provide a supplemental project since I don’t have any current projects from work?
No. You must provide your own work-related project
Do I have to start a new project or can a past project work for my Green Belt or Black Belt Project?
The project should be new and if not, it must at least be revised and follow the project storyboard submission guides:

Do I need the support of a Master Black Belt?
Although it is not required, Master Black Belt support is highly recommended.
Do you provide Master Black Belt support if I don’t have one in my organization?
Yes, by purchasing 1-on-1 Project Coaching that includes a total of 6 hours of remote support via web meeting or telephone with a GoLeanSixSigma.com Master Black Belt.
How long do I have to complete my project?
If you have 6 months of access, we highly recommend that learners complete their training portion within the first 2 months of their access, and complete their project within the last 4 months of their access.
Can you help me on my exam?
We provide a maximum of 2-exam reviews per course.
How long does it take for a Master Black Belt to review my submitted work?
3 days for Project Screener and Project Selection Tool. 10 days for Project Storyboard and Elective.
