December 5 2024, Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General hosted students from Waipahu High School to enhance engagement with Filipino American youth. The visit featured a screening of the documentary Wisdom Keepers of the Earth, showcasing Filipino ritualists, healers, and environmental stewards like the baylan and mumbaki, followed by an interactive discussion on indigenous practices and their relevance in modern society.
Students were also introduced to the Consulate’s services and enjoyed popular Filipino snacks. The Consulate expressed gratitude to GLSS Founder & Chairman Karlo Tanjuakio and Waipahu High School officials for organizing the visit.
