Lean Processes Are ‘Low-Hanging Fruit’ Of Maintenance Savings

Lean processes are recently gaining recognition in plant and facilities maintenance. Technicians of plant and facilities maintenance rely on receiving notifications every day. Notifications include work orders that are pending, access and interaction with work orders on mobile devices, and the ability to view manuals or diagrams on-the-go. To achieve more visibility and more information, facilities are using lean processes.  This will lead to better decisions and savings on wait times.

Retailers Urged To Adopt Technology And ‘Lean’ Practices To Boost Productivity

The Singapore Productivity Centre is introducing new initiatives to help retailers adopt ‘lean’ practices. Beginning November 2014, retailers in The Singapore Productivity Centre will be able to attend programs held by the centre. Programs will include workshops and study trips which will be aimed at helping retailers cut down inefficiencies and add value to customers experiences.

Sun Country Touting Lean’s Benefits

The Sun Country Health Region uses Lean management systems for health care workers and facilities. According to article author, David Willberg, “Initiatives [that] have already taken place have focused on laundry and linens, and on surgical wait room patient flow.” The surgical flow projects focused on pre-operative clinics where management focused on a way to streamline surgical operation processes to decrease patient wait time. With great Lean movement, Sun Country is now promoting Lean to the public!
