Great question. I’m not sure how new you are but if you’re truly starting out then a great place to begin is our online Yellow Belt Training. It’s 8 hours of self-paced instruction in the basics of Lean Six Sigma (and, bonus, it’s free!). Hypothesis testing doesn’t come into play until the Black Belt level but there are lots of ways to verify root causes without using hypothesis tests. Those are touched on in Yellow Belt and then covered in more depth in Green Belt. Another way to educate yourself is to download some of the other “Intro to..” Webinars. They’re all roughly 45 minutes with some Q&A at the end. Problem-solving will never lose its value. It’s a rich topic and I wish you well on your journey!
