Do you have any good suggestions for resources on how to use visual management in software development? For example, when your workforce does all of their work within an online workflow system?

Yes, it’s called a Kanban Board. This is used in software to manage the flow of work. This tool uses columns to organize the work: “Ideas,” “To Do,” “Doing” and “Done.” Software is often completed in small chunks and in the Lean or Agile world of software development, this is the key visual management structure.

There is a free app called Trello that you can use to create your own powerful Kanban Board. For more on Lean and Agile you can read this helpful article by someone who works in both worlds
